Accelerated Housing Tour hosted by Tony and Matt Balding
Committee 4 Wagga members recently joined Tony and Matt Balding from Accelerated Homes for a tour of their manufacturing facility in Bomen and one of their completed homes at 24 Monash Avenue in Mount Austin.
The inspiration for Accelerated Homes began with the 2003 Canberra Fires and since then the company is expanding into other areas such as social housing.

Committee 4 Wagga members were invited to attend a SAP update delivered at Wagga City Council Chambers by Regional NSW recently.
The presentation was introduced by Executive Director RGDC James Bolton and featured further insights into the project so far by Project Director Wagga City Council Darryl Woods, Project Manager Construction Stewart Owens and Senior Development Planner Luke Perkins.

The morning started with the students interviewing each other on route to Charles Sturt University. The students discussed “Their Hidden Potential”, as highlighted their Clarity 4D personal profiles. Topics covered were what resonated with them, what they disagreed with and how each person’s traits are very different.

Committee for Wagga held our first Welcome to Wagga event at the Charles Sturt University Winery last night (Wednesday 30th March 2022).
New residents were joined by Aunty Mary Atkinson, Deputy Mayor Cr Jenny McKinnon, Cr Kevin Foley, and WWCC General Manager Peter Thompson. The focus of the evening was on making and furthering connections within our community and to our city.

Module 2 of the Wagga School Leaders Program was held on Tuesday 22nd March at Borambola Sport and Recreation Centre. The Pro Patria Centre officially launched today (Thursday 17th March 2022) with the exchange of contracts between the Carmelite Sisters Monastery and the Pro Patria Wagga Wagga Property Trust.

Olympic Highway Intersection Upgrades at Gobbagombalin Bridge
Transport for NSW has developed plans for the Olympic Highway intersections at Old Narrandera Road and Travers Street, at either end of Gobbagombalin Bridge.
The concept design and Review of Environmental Factors (REF) report to assess the project’s impact on natural and cultural heritage, feedback on the report is currently open.

Marshalls Creek Bridge Upgrade
In September 2021 Transport for NSW released the Detailed Design and Review of Environmental Factors for the planned Marshalls Creek Upgrade. The Marshall’s Creek Upgrade forms part of the Transport for NSW Draft Wagga Wagga Transport Plan and involves the replacement of the current two-lane bridge with a new four-lane bridge, with a shared pedestrian pathway (for pedestrians and cyclists), and a second footpath for pedestrians.
