WAGGA SCHOOL LEADERS ORIENTATION 2021

Committee for Wagga would like to welcome the new cohorts of our Wagga School Leaders Program 2021. Last night saw 17 students from 6 local high schools attend orientation where students were given a course outline including lectures, interactive activities, tours, forums, events, excursion and virtual experiences.

The first module will take place on 24th February at Charles Sturt University. Committee for Wagga looks forward to providing updates at the completion of each module.

Riverina Intermodal Freight & Logistics Hub Site Works Commences

NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro participated in the sod turning ceremony for the Riverina Intermodal Freight and Logistics Hub (RiFL) at Bomen yesterday.

Committee for Wagga has been a long-time advocate of the RiFL Hub as it forms a key component of the Bomen Business Park and the Special Activation Precinct Draft Master Plan (released in July 2020). We look forward to the opportunities this significant development will bring to Wagga Wagga, including attracting new further businesses to the city and driving economic & population growth.

Four years on, still no release date for Wagga Urban Highway Study

Committee for Wagga has advocated for an alternative heavy vehicle route since 2015. Along with Wagga Wagga City Council we eagerly await the release of the Wagga Place Plan, incorporating the Wagga Urban Highway Study, in early 2021.

The Wagga Place Plan is expected to guide the strategy of and take a long-term integrated approach to the future of transport in Wagga Wagga. It is a key document in planning the future growth of our city.
