This last twelve months has seen the Board & Executive continued to focus its attention on those issues that our members told us were important for them, such as:-

1. Maintaining our advocacy profile & effectiveness, communicating to members and providing high standard leadership programs

2. Continuing our focus on progressing key infrastructure projects including,

The Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation (RGDC) was established on July 1 2019 to deliver place-based projects in regional NSW. Its mission is to attract investment, plan and develop attractive precincts, and create regional places where people can work and thrive. It is a one-stop shop, supporting investors through faster approval processes, planning certainty, and infrastructure development.

Proway Livestock Equipment was established in February 2000 and since then has progressed to become practical consultants with a suite of skills, relevant to designing and delivering livestock handling products and facilities.

C4W, including several of our Board members and member organisations were invited to participate in welcoming 14 members of a Trade Mission for Consular Officials to Wagga Wagga and the Riverina Murray region early in October.The program showcased the region’s key industry sectors and investment opportunities with a particular focus on the advanced manufacturing sector and was hosted by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Austrade and Wagga Wagga City Council

Council’s events team have put together a fine dining experience on the Wollundry Lagoon Bridge as part of Devour at Fusion.

Another successful WSLP was completed in June 2019. We would again like to thank our valued supporters Charles Sturt University and The Army Recruit Training Centre along with sponsors Enirgi Power Storage Recycling, Estella Rise, Riverina Water, NSW Government, Wagga Motors, Sureway Employment & Training and Bush & Campbell and the support of Charles Sturt University.

In early July Committee 4 Wagga attended Charles Sturt University’s release of a new course, developed in collaboration with industry and community experts and ideally suited to both the private and public sectors.  The Graduate Certificate in Community Leadership and Resilience is custom-made for those seeking a leadership role in building strong, sustainable communities.  Graduates will be ready for senior leadership roles within community-focused organisations – be that local government, not-for-profit, non-government organisations or any other sector with a strong connection to community outcomes.

We congratulate our Member Port of Melbourne and David Bardos for the initiative of bringing their Board of Directors to the region in July.  The Committee 4 Wagga, the WWCC and representatives from other key local business and government agencies were invited to meet with the Board during their stay in Wagga Wagga.
