Welcome to New Member Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation
We would like to welcome the Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation (RGDC) as a new member of Committee for Wagga.
An agency of the NSW Government, the RGDC was established on July 1 2019 to deliver place-based projects in regional NSW. Its mission is to attract investment, plan and develop attractive precincts, and create regional places where people can work and thrive. It is a one-stop shop, supporting investors through faster approval processes, planning certainty, and infrastructure development.
RGDC is managing the first two Special Activation Precincts declared in NSW, one here in Wagga Wagga (Bomen Industrial Estate) and one in Parkes. These Precincts are in planning phase and delivery is expected to begin in 2020.
Brendan Nelson was appointed as the inaugural CEO of the Regional Development Corporation on July 1, 2019.
Brendan Nelson is the 2014 Australian Planner of the Year, is a former Deputy Secretary in NSW Planning, and was National President of the Planning Institute of Australia from 2014 – 2018. He has a long career in development and planning. Brendan has a Bachelor of Environmental Science from Griffith University, and a Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning from the Queensland University of Technology.
