Wagga School Leaders Program Module 1
Module 1 of the Wagga School Leaders Program commenced last week at Transgrid Discovery Hub. The morning commenced with an icebreaker exercise prior to the cohort spends time establishing their Cohort Charter which will be their guide to refer to for the entirety of the program.
Then the students had time to learn more about themselves and their cohorts as well as start to think about their “personal brand” The challenge is how they will live it each and every day!
The students were able to spend time interviewing VIP’s at the morning tea Launch learning about first impressions and differing leadership styles.
During the first session, the students explore a growth mindset compared to a fixed mindset. They talked openly about taking accountability for mistakes and about perseverance and using different strategies to avoid making the same mistake.
Member for Riverina Michael McCormack MP generously dedicating his time to our Wagga School Leaders Program cohort. Mr McCormack spent close to an hour and a half engaging with Year 11 students from eight Wagga high schools, answering a wide range of thoughtful questions. His insights added real depth to the program’s launch .
We are also deeply grateful to our program partners Enirgi Power Storage Recycling, Sureway Employment & Training, Charles Sturt University, Bush & Campbell Accountants, Westpac, Wagga RSL Club, Transgrid, and ARTC Kapooka for supporting the future ambassadors of our city .
