Committee 4 Wagga hosted dinner with Minister For Agriculture, Minister For Regional NSW and Minister For Western NSW, the Hon. Tara Moriarty MLC

Two graduates from the Wagga School Leaders Program took centre stage at a special dinner held in Wagga this week.

Susie Priest and Fatemeh Abassi proved outstanding ambassadors for the program when they spoke at the event featuring Minister For Agriculture, Minister For Regional NSW and Minister For Western NSW, the Hon. Tara Moriarty MLC.

Committee 4 Wagga board members and invited guests – including Member For Wagga Dr Joe McGirr and Wagga City Council Deputy Mayor Emilia Parkins – joined the School Leaders for the function at the Riverine Club.

Susie took part in the C4W program in 2022 before serving as Kooringal High School’s vice-captain in 2023 and then starting a Bachelor Of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging degree at Charles Sturt University this year.

Fatemah, who is in Year 12 at Kooringal High, was a member of the 2023 cohort and has subsequently participated in the National Youth Science Forum and contributed to the Multicultural Council Of Wagga.

Both told the gathering how the program played a significant role in their personal development and strengthening their skillsets.

Minister Moriarty, who had spent the day on a tour of Wagga, said the city’s leaders and organisations must keep working with a united front to ensure future success.

CW4 secretary Sam Beresford urged the Minister to continue supporting Wagga’s diverse economy and vibrant community and invest in our youth through initiatives such as the School Leaders Program.
