Committee 4 Wagga Upcoming seminar to work on city's 20 year vision

AN UPCOMING seminar is set to give residents a chance to address the critical growth factors to meet the target of 100,000 residents by 2038. Committee 4 Wagga will be hosting a seminar on Friday in response to the state government's 20-year economic vision for regional NSW, which endorsed the city's accelerated growth. Chief executive Alan Johnston said the event has been designed to engage key stakeholders and drive a conversation in the public forum around the future growth and development of Wagga as it strives to meet its target of 100,000 residents in 19 years. The keynote presentation will be delivered by demographic commentator Bernard Salt. It will be followed by a panel discussion facilitated by Mr Salt, where attendees having the chance to participate in the Q&A session. The panelists include Wagga City Council's general manager Peter Thompson, state government chief planner Gary White and department of premier and cabinet's Riverina-Murray director James Bolton. Former Riverina MP and NSW Skills Board member Kay Hull, consultant physician and interventional cardiologist Gerard Carroll and Enirgi managing director Darren Nelson will also be on the panel. Mr Johnston said the event is nearing capacity with only a handful of tickets left. People interested can purchase a ticket for $75 via the Committee 4 Wagga website. The seminar starts at 9.30am at the Rules Club and will conclude at midday.
