Wagga School Leaders Program Module 4
Health and Wellbeing
Our school leaders had a day of focusing on and learning more about Health and Wellbeing. On this occasion we are being hosted by Transgrid at the Discovery Hub.
The day starts with the students breaking off into pairs to discuss the following:
· What did you most enjoy about module 3 and why?
· What was your DiSC style and how have you utilised this information since?
· What does resilience mean to you? On a scale, how resilient do you think you are? Why?
· How do you react under stress? What makes you stressed?
The students where led through a series of discussions and deep dives on resilience, energy, energy recovery and being our best selves, culminating in students developing their own resilience action plan.
After lunch Ryhs Cummins, Murrumbidgee Men’s Group spoke to the students about his journey with mental health issues and spoke of resilience and well-being. Rhys was very authentic with the students and provided the cohort with important technics he has used successfully when dealing with stressful situations. His story showed courage, determination and perseverance. It also pointed out the importance of building a supportive network.
The last message was to check in on your family, your friends and on yourself.
