Wagga School Leaders Program Module 4
Module 4 commenced with the excited students meeting at the new PCYC Complex. The students stated their intentions for the day and set about interviewing each other exploring ways they are able to identify stressful situations and ways they deal with it.
The students were then introduced to the first guest presenter of the day Derrick McMannus. Derrick addressed the students about Human Durability – Going Beyond Resilience to Sustaining Optimal Performance. The students explored ways to stay strong physically, mentally, and emotionally by finding a system that works for them. The students were very interactive and participated in learning new mindsets, and setting up frameworks and systems to help manage their minds and feel more confident to tackle challenging situations in varying settings.
After a lunch break, the next presenter Jum Lamont from Jump Start Communications took to the floor. In this session, the students explored Interpersonal Skills. They discussed the skills involved to communicate and build relationships with others. They talked about verbal and non-verbal communication and the effect it has on building relationships and discussed their strengths and where they could see opportunities to develop better skills.
