Wagga School Leaders Program Module 3
Module 3 commenced with each student expressing their intent for the day before boarding the bus where the discussion centered around “my hidden potential”.
The students were encouraged to explore their personality traits using their Clarity 4D profiles. Each student was able to relate to the 4 different colour energies as they discussed the importance of recognising other people’s colour energies and being able to adapt communication styles depending on who they are connecting with.
Over a working lunch the students began their first mentoring session. The mentors spoke to the students about the importance of confident and effective communication and its impact on first impressions.
They reflected on how as leaders, it is our job to be aware of different perspectives and to be confident in our own skin, so as to build trust and inspire those around us to succeed. This session is a great opportunity for mentors to share some valuable life experiences. The students were able to ask questions and learn from the mentor during the session. Key takeaway points such as “you are interesting if you are interested”, “a good leader is a good listener” and “to have a plan for your priorities”.
The afternoon session was completed at Workout Wagga where the students were put through their paces by personal trainer Margo McFadden. Margo encouraged the students to communicate, listen and work as part of a team and to support one another. The students discussed making time to stay active and the importance of physical activity to relieve stress.
