One of the first businesses to back the Lights4Lake project, Enirgi Power Storage sponsored lights 15, 41 and 101.

General Manager (Manufacturing) Darren Nelson said as soon as he heard about the Committe4Wagga initiative he could see its potential.

“Lighting up the Lake is such a no-brainer. As soon as you hear about it you think, ‘Why is it not already done? Let’s do it!’ We jumped in and bought three lights to make sure the project went ahead.

“At Enirgi we like to sponsor projects that involve either education or healthy lifestyles and this project will really open up what is already a good, healthy facility.

“Enirgi is all about emerging technologies, which solar street lighting is, so to support a project using solar technology with battery backup was the icing on the cake.

“We all know about solar, it’s been around for some time, but to replace street lights with solar is quite new and this is just the tip of the iceberg. If we jump forward 10 years it will be common for people to have battery power in their homes, relying less on the grid.

“This is an exceptional facility we have here and I think people of all ages can appreciate it being better lit.

“I can’t wait to come down in the dark and be able to look off into the distance and see the path well lit and walk a full lap of the Lake at night with my family.”
