From the CEO’s desk – June 2018

I would like to thank the outgoing CEO, Phil May, for his commitment to C4W in his time in the role. Phil continues to make a valuable contribution to C4W, working closely with me as I transition into the role. I wish Phil all the best in his future endeavours.

By way of introduction, I have been a member of the Board of Management of C4W since 2012. I have resided in Wagga Wagga since the early 1980’s and recently retired from my role as General Manager Operations – ANZ with Buckman, a US based global specialty chemical supplier, after some 21 years.

I am extremely honoured to have been offered the role of CEO and look forward to making a valued contribution to C4W and its supporting members to deliver on our Mission of championing positive change for a better Wagga Wagga. Myself and the board recognise that June/July is a busy time in the business community however, I hope to be able to reach out to members as our busy schedules permit, so that we can maintain the momentum and be in a position to take advantage of opportunities as they arise to deliver on our Strategic Plan and supporting projects.

Good progress has been made on many of our Strategic Plan projects in recent months. That progress is evident in a variety of ways – from the ongoing physical construction of the Main City Levee and the impending release of the stage 2 tender to the announcement of the Medical School by Mr McCormack, Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Member for Riverina.

As you would be aware, momentum is building on the Active Travel Plan and Ladysmith Rail Trail. The C4W led 2018 Wagga School Leaders Program will reach its successful conclusion later this month. Opportunities are currently being explored in the areas of City Image and Smart Cities innovations. The C4W also recently contributed a submission on the Wagga Wagga City Council Combined Delivery and Operational Plan for 2018/19 and the Long Term Financial Plan documents.

The Board and Executive will continue to diligently advocate for progress in all of our current strategic and priority projects as well as explore for new opportunities. I look forward to sharing news of our progress with you in future publications.

Please feel free to ring me or drop me an email with any feedback and ideas that you would like to share. I can be contacted on the CEO email address (ceo@c4wagga.com.au) or on my mobile 0412 244 529.
