The picturesque Riverside Precinct provided the perfect backdrop for the Welcome To Wagga event on September 13.

Newcomers to the city gathered at the recreation spot near the Murrumbidgee River to make a stronger connection to the place they now call home.

Committee 4 Wagga hosted the event with the support of Regional Development Australia Riverina and Region Riverina.

Special guest was Member For Wagga Dr Joe McGirr, while Aunty Mary Atkinson delivered a memorable Welcome To Country.

Attendees enjoyed a barbecue cooked by Wagga Wagga Rotary.

The relaxed atmosphere was enhanced by families playing ball games with the Murrumbidgee River in the background.

Welcome To Wagga was held in conjunction with the Riverina Country Change Expo.

The expo drew a large number of stallholders to the Transgrid Discovery Hub earlier in the day.

RDA Riverina conducted the expo, showcasing the strengths of the Riverina to those who are giving consideration to moving to the region.
