Welcome to Wagga April Edition

Welcome To Wagga was celebrated by a large and vibrant group of guests who travelled from as far afield as Sydney at the weekend.

The Committee 4 Wagga event hosted more than 70 participants – representing a wide cross-section of cultural communities – at the Riverside Precinct on Saturday afternoon.

C4W chair Adam Drummond spoke enthusiastically about what the city has to offer while Aunty Mary Atkinson performed a Welcome To Country.

Special guests were Miss Wagga Wagga 2024 Velika Hayes and Community Princess Jess Barclay,

Regional Development Australia Riverina partnered in the event, which was held in conjunction with the Riverina Discovery Weekend & Country Change Expo.

A busload from Sydney attended the expo before moving on to take part in the Welcome To Wagga festivities.

Welcome packs filled with goods, services and handy Wagga hints – donated by College of Nursing & Education Australia, McDonald’s Wagga, Vortex Entertainment, The Gardens Wagga, Big Springs Water, Riverina Water, Devcore and Regional Australian Bank – proved popular giveaways.

Another Welcome To Wagga will be conducted by C4W later in the year.
