WAGGA WAGGA 100,000 TASKFORCE

Committee for Wagga remains focused on the outcomes of the Wagga Wagga 100,000 seminar which occurred in September of last year. The seminar recognized the need to establish a working group to direct our city’s approach towards this population goal.

Recent events have shifted the initial focus of 2020 to the city’s response and recovery to both the COVID-19 pandemic and the bushfires. As part of the response to COVID-19, Committee for Wagga joined the ‘Live Local. Be Local’ Business Support Group consisting of the Wagga Wagga City Council, Wagga Wagga Business Chamber, BEC Business Advice, Women in Business, Charles Sturt University, Regional Development Australia - Riverina and Member for Wagga Wagga, Dr Joe McGirr, MP.

Beyond the initial COVID-19 recovery this group will continue to work together to establish the taskforce, with the aim of moving Wagga Wagga towards the 100,000 population target identified by the NSW Government in 2018.
