Wagga School Leaders Program-To Benefit From Stronger Country Communities Fund

The Board and Executive are pleased to advise that our submission for funding from Round Three of the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund for our Wagga School Leaders Program has been successful. The NSW Government is investing in local programs and infrastructure to improve the lives of youth in regional NSW. The funding is recognition of the success of the program in previous years and, along with the much valued support from member sponsors, supporters and Charles Sturt University, will underpin the delivery of the program for the next three years.

The success and future of the program is in no small part due to the commitment of the Wagga High Schools, the student participants, local businesses and contributors, Chris Fitzpatrick who has facilitated the program since inception, along with past and present members of our Executive who have provided time and support for the program.

Following the untimely curtailment of the 2020 program, we anticipate that current social restrictions will ease as we approach the end of the year, so that we will be able to prepare for delivery of the program in 2021. The future of the Wagga School Leaders Program is very bright and the benefits to our community will be felt as these young adults become ambassadors for the City of Wagga Wagga.
