Board of Management changes
The Board of Management of Committee 4 Wagga advises that Judy Galloway has retired from her position as Chair of the Committee 4 Wagga at the Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday 5th December 2018. Judy was appointed as the inaugural Chair of the Board of Management from inception in 2011. As part of the Board’s succession planning, Judy has also retired as a Board Member. Appointed to the position of Chair of the Board at the Annual General Meeting was Michael Quirk. Michael has been the Vic-Chair of Committee 4 Wagga since inception.
The Board and Members would like to sincerely thank Judy for her considerable contribution to the effectiveness of the Committee 4 Wagga in driving positive change for Wagga Wagga. Judy will remain an active influence with the Committee 4 Wagga through the Corporate Membership of Sureway Employment & Training, a founding member of the Committee 4 Wagga.
During Judy’s time as Chair, the Committee 4 Wagga has been instrumental in delivering numerous community projects including Share the Road, Lights 4 The Lake, CCTV in the CBD and the Wagga Live New Year’s Eve in the Victory Memorial Gardens. The development of Wagga Wagga’s future leaders has been ably supported by programs including the Wagga School Leaders Program, the Emerging Leaders Program and Mentoring 4 Growth.
Judy’s passion for championing positive change for Wagga Wagga has seen the advocacy for Committee 4 Wagga’s strategic plan projects capture the attention and commitment from all levels of government to expedite the construction of the upgraded CBD levee bank, making the RiFL Hub a reality, redevelopment of the Riverside Precinct in support of the communities increasing demand for festival and events, obtaining the UNSW Medical School and the Active Travel Plan for cycleways, and finally gaining the attention of the NSW Government to address the infrastructure shortcomings of the Wagga Wagga road network.
Appointed to the Board of Management at the Annual General Meeting were Professor Lyndall Angel, Interim Executive Dean, Faculty of Science, at Charles Sturt University and Matthew Hall, General Manager of Sureway Employment of Training.
Our major challenge for 2019-20 is to not only ensure prompt realization of those infrastructure projects already announced and in the pipeline, but to form a unified representation for our city, to drive economic and social development for the next twenty years. Deep collaboration between representative partners and agility in capturing opportunities are key to achieving economic growth & community prosperity for Wagga Wagga – regardless of political cycles.
