C4W invites Assistant Minster for Cities to speak
The Committe4Wagga has invited the Honourable Angus Taylor, Assistant Minister for Cities and Digital Transformation to speak at a forum in Wagga Wagga this Friday.
The forum is titled “A planned vision for the future of Wagga Wagga.”
“The presentation is very timely given the currency of the Wagga Wagga Integrated Transport Study feedback process and the looming review of the Local Environmental Plan and Development Control Plan,” said Chairperson of C4Wagga Judy Galloway. “Angus Taylor has undertaken extensive national and international travel to study, appreciate and understand the most outstanding vibrant, relative and successful cities of the globe and will share his thoughts on what the ideal futuristic regional city will look like in 20 years’ time”.
Angus Taylor will lead the presentation on Wagga Wagga as it heads towards a population of 80,000 by 2036, some of the factors will include.
What will we need to plan, to ensure our relevancy and liveability?
What vision is required by our civic leaders to ensure infrastructure keeps pace with the city’s needs?
What are the challenges for regional cities in the future?
What is the Federal Governments approach to regional cities?
What new infrastructure will Wagga need to support its growth in the future?
This is an excellent opportunity for our business and civic leaders to engage directly with the Federal Government’s expert in the growth of Regional Cities. The discussion and outcomes of the forum should encourage the community to influence the various challenges to the city including transport integration, economic development and the infrastructure requirements for the future.
