Wagga School Leaders Program 2023 Module 1
The 2023 Wagga School Leaders Program commenced last Tuesday with Module 1 being completed at the Charles Sturt University. Fourteen enthusiastic students arrived ready to learn new skills and gain confidence to become leaders of the future.
During the day students participated in the Launch of the 2023 Wagga School Leaders Program where they met, interviewed and conversed with various community leaders including: Hon Michael McCormack MP, Dr Joe McGirr, MP, Hon Wes Fang MLC, Committee 4 Wagga Board Members, Peter Thompson GM Wagga Wagga City Council and school representatives.
Module 1 objectives were to:
· share why the Wagga School Leaders Program is important and to communicate the role of the program to developing future leaders/ambassadors.
· discuss intent and values and their meaning and impact on individual choices and actions.
· commence developing a leadership shield, a medium for the students to communicate who they are, where they fit within family, and community, and the values that shape them as developing leaders.
· assess confidence in areas of communication, manage challenging situations, awareness of personal strengths and teamwork.
· discovering me – Clarity 4D – explore their potential and create an action plan.
The day was concluded with a debriefing, giving the students the opportunity to discuss and reflect on what they had learned during the day.
Module 2 will take place at on Tuesday 21 March.
