The Special Activation Precinct (SAP) is a consolidated industrial precinct located between the Olympic Highway and Byrnes Road. The Wagga Wagga SAP has been identified by the NSW Government as an employment precinct having potential for growth, and where planning, investment and infrastructure can be prioritised.

The draft Master Plan was produced by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, in conjunction with Wagga Wagga City Council, Committee for Wagga and other interest groups, with one of the objectives to plan and complete environmental assessments up front, thereby reducing the cost and time associated with obtaining development approvals for new and existing businesses within the precinct.

The draft Master Plan covers an area of 4,500 hectares incorporating the existing Bomen Industrial Park and the planned Riverina Intermodal Freight and Logistics (RiFL) Hub and is expected to create up to 6,050 jobs by 2040. A key element of the draft Master Plan is the separation of industry and residential communities.

The draft Master Plan will be on public exhibition until 15th September 2020. We encourage members to view the plan and provide their feedback:
