Big step forward in funding of Levee Bank Reconstruction

On June 9, 2016 Member for Riverina Michael McCormack & Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce jointly announced the Coalition will pledge $10million as a contribution to the reconstruction of the Wagga levee bank.

Subsequently, the State Member for Wagga, Daryl Maguire announced the NSW State Government would provide the remainder of the required funds to complete the work which is equivalent to approximately $2.1M.

As an election commitment it is obviously dependent on the return to Federal Government of the Liberal National Party Coalition.

This is great news for the City of Wagga Wagga and indeed C4Wagga which made this issue its #1 priority since the 2012 flood and evacuation of Wagga Wagga.
