Charles Sturt University will be hosting an evening with Clive Hamilton on 8 November 2022. The focus of this event will be Clive’s fascinating, deep and powerful book - Defiant Earth: The Fate of Humans in the Anthropocene.
This book challenges our existence with a focus on how humans have become so powerful that we have disrupted the functioning of the Earth. The stable environmental conditions that allowed civilisation to flourish are disappearing.
Clive’s question is, do we need to rethink everything? We have arrived at a point that human history and Earth history has collided, where do we go from here?
The evening will focus on this fascinating conversation about the fate of our planet. Clive will first present an overview of his book, followed by a panel session with four local and influential environmental specialists. There will also be the opportunity for Q&A.
