Committee for Wagga is pleased to invite members and guests to our 8th Roundtable for 2020. The focus of the Roundtable is the draft Wagga Wagga Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS), which was adopted by Wagga Wagga City Council on 26th October 2020 for release for public exhibition. We will be joined by Michael Keys, Director Regional Activation, Wagga Wagga City Council who will provide an overview of the Planning Statement and address audience questions.
The LSPS is on public exhibition for 42 days and members are encouraged to provide their feedback both via this event and the exhibition period. Read the draft LSPS and supporting information here.
The LSPS sets out the 20-year planning vision for the Local Government Area, providing a planning vision, emphasising strategic land use, transport and environmental planning and considering how the area will change to meet the community’s needs in 20 years’ time. The LSPS will form the basis for rezoning decisions and inform the review of planning controls across the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area, guiding development outcomes. In practice, the LSPS will shape how the Local Environmental Plan and Development Control Plans evolve over time.
Committee for Wagga’s 8th Roundtable is an opportunity for members to discuss the document and pose questions to WWCC representatives. The LSPS will drive the future direction of our city and we encourage members and the public to provide feedback both during our 8th Roundtable and the exhibition period.
