POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Board of Management
COMMITTEE 4 WAGGA
The Committee for Wagga (C4W) is a non-profit incorporated association which is governed by a Board of Management (BOM) comprised of senior representatives from business, government, non- profit organisations and the community.
C4W’s purpose is to advance Wagga and its surrounding region in a positive, strategic and consultative way.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
To provide the necessary direction, leadership, and management towards achievement of C4W’s purpose and the sustainable development of Committee 4 Wagga.
The CEO will also provide the research, analysis, project management and partnership support required by the Board and members. This includes advocating, establishing and maintaining local, regional, state, national and global relationships and program partnerships, and securing project funds to sustain ongoing operations.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position is overseen by the Board of Management and requires regular collaboration with all stakeholders including both internally and externally.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational and Financial Management
Manage the day to day operations of C4W utilising existing systems and procedures
Provide leadership to the executive team
Develop and maintain effective reporting processes to keep the Board and members well informed
Provide the Board with advice on best corporate governance and work collaboratively on its implementation within C4W
Prepare for Board consideration a Strategic Plan, including updates at least every three years
Prudently manage the C4W’s resources within budget guidelines as set by the Board and prepare and present to the Board regular financial status reports
Identify resource requirements, research funding sources, and prepare submissions on behalf of C4W
Prepare and present the annual budget for Board approval
Project Management
Ensure implementation of all C4W projects, coordinating financial, human, and physical resources
Provide research, analysis, and advice to C4W relevant to potential projects
Develop and maintain appropriate systems for documenting, monitoring and reporting on all C4W projects
Public Relations
Prepare and make public statements to the media on behalf of C4W and represent C4W in dealings with public, community and business groups, as authorised by the Board
Provide advice and support to the Board in all matters relating to public relations and media
Work in coalition with community, business and local government organisations to generate widespread support for and understanding of C4W’s objectives, along with developing a positive community relationship
Develop effective communication channels within community, business and government sectors
Membership Development
Consolidate and engage strong collaborative participation from all levels of C4W membership base so that all members feel informed and engaged
Provide leadership and support to C4W in building a strong membership base, including developing and maintaining a membership prospectus and marketing campaign
Develop innovative strategies to promote and secure ongoing growth in membership
Build, monitor, and maintain the required membership base to sustain the operational needs of the organisation
Provide timely and effective member communications
Funding Opportunities
Research and recommend strategies to source funding through government, community, business and private sectors
Investigate, identify and follow up all opportunities for securing ongoing and project specific funding
Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary and/or professional qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and liaise at the highest levels in both the public and private sectors
Highly developed and demonstrated project management experience, including managing and coordinating a number of complex projects concurrently
Current Driver’s Licence and have your own vehicle
